Pioneers Memorial, Bristol Hill, Maryborough

Bristol Hill overlooks the central Victorian town of Maryborough and is the site of the town’s Pioneers’ Memorial.  Built during the early 1930’s as a tribute to the area’s founders, and to provide much needed work for the unemployed during the depression.  These days it serves mostly as a lookout over Maryborough for visitors to the town, or a great vantage point to watch the sunset.
